A luxury restaurant is opening in South East London
A luxury dining restaurant is set to open in South Eastern London.
The new restaurant, located in Old Street, is to be called the Euston Grill and will serve up a range of dishes from the likes of steak and lamb to gourmet sandwiches and cheeses.
Owner Alex Green says the restaurant is expected to be open by the end of June.
He says he’s working with the local authorities to find a venue for the restaurant, which will be located in a new development on the site of the former Royal Hotel.
He added: “We’re hoping to open up the restaurant in April and will be opening in May.”
The restaurant will be the first of its kind in the UK, it will be a completely modern, modern dining experience.
“The Eustons menu, which is designed to cater to the growing appetite for food and drink in the capital, will be inspired by the cuisine of the British Isles and will include everything from the Middle East to Mediterranean cuisine.
Mr Green, who was born and raised in South London, said the Eureka Grill was set to be an ideal setting for the restaurants menu.
He said: “The people here are passionate about food and want to come and enjoy their food and drinks, so this is really a great opportunity to bring something unique to this area.”
Mr Green said he had already had some success in the area with his restaurant, the Old Street Lounge.
He told the BBC: “It’s a really good restaurant, it has a great atmosphere and is a fantastic spot.”
But it’s also got to be safe for everyone, so we’ve been working with some of the partners in the community to make sure that it is safe for all of our guests.”
Alex Green, owner of the Eurgal Grill and the Old Stag Grill in London, speaks with BBC News 24’s Tom Edwards about the opening of his new restaurant in Old Stags.
He has also built a range, including a menu for sandwiches, for a bar and cafe in Old Southwark.
Mr Greens family are currently in the process of relocating to the UK and he said the plans for the EUSTON Grill and Old Stagg Grill had been in the works for some time.
Mr Greene said he hoped the restaurant would offer an “authentic” experience for its guests.
He explained: “In the past, a lot of restaurants have taken their food very seriously and then tried to make it a bit fancy, a bit more exotic.”
So we’re trying to create something that’s as close to a traditional restaurant as possible.
“It’s about creating something that is really authentic to the region that it’s based in.”
A number of restaurants in South-East London are planning to open their doors in the coming weeks.
The Old Street Bar and Grill in the Old South, for example, is planning to reopen in early May.
