A luxury shower installed in a house in the city of Amritsar has helped the owner transform her home into an eco-friendly and sustainable living space, the owner has said.
A new luxury shower with water that is made from recycled water is being installed in the house in Amrit’s Paharganj district.
The project, named Kriya, was started by a couple of students who realised the need for a clean water supply in the area, says Naseer Ali, an assistant professor at the Institute of Integrated Studies, Amrit.
The new shower is being built on a reclaimed house site.
The new shower has been installed in front of the house of the owners Shamsuddin Khan and Zafar Khan.
The project was launched after they realized that the house was not well maintained and they wanted to change this, says Ali.
The couple plans to open the shower to the public.
They hope to install the shower on more houses and soon to expand the scheme.
The shower is made of a series of recycled plastic bottles, which are recycled from water bottles used by people in the region.
The water in the water bottles is treated with a special microfilter that allows it to remove any bacteria, the project’s team said.
The water is then filtered and treated to remove the water, which is then returned to the bottles.
The team hopes to make the water available for use by the local population, who need clean water for their everyday needs.
